Staff
Mrs. Dirks joined the school as principal in 2005. Mrs. Dirks experience with WCA started in 1997 when she enrolled her oldest child. Mrs. Dirks taught K-4 during the 97/98 school year and her class included her oldest child. Now all but the youngest Dirks child attend the academy! Mrs. Dirks is married to Pastor Jason Dirks of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church and is the mother of 5.
Marlys Osborn - Pre-school/Kindergarten Teacher Mrs. Osborn has been teaching at WCA since 2003. She and her husband, Leonard, are the parents of three grown sons and have several beautiful grandchildren, . Her teaching experience includes homeschooling her own children! Marlys attends Christ's Church where she serves as a sunday school teacher and fills in wherever needed. She has been a wonderful addition to our staff.
Susie Waddel - 1st &2nd Grade Teacher Mrs. Waddel has been teaching at Woodward Christian Academy for eleven years. She is married to Bo and has three children. Terra and Hollee are married and Jimmie is a graduate of WHS. Susie teaches 1st & 2nd Grade Sunday School at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church. She is a gifted teacher and God uses her greatly to minister to the children in her class as well as to their families.
Robert Dwinelle - JLC Supervisor Mr Dwinelle joined our staff last year as the Junior Learning Center supervisor. What a blessing to have a godly man with a servant's heart teaching our youngsters. Mr. Dwinelle is a member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church where he works with children and youth. Mr. Dwinelle can also frequently be found serving the ill, grieving, homebound, or widowed of our community. He is married to Jeri and has one grown son in California and a school age step-son in the home.
Marilyn Evans - MLC Supervisor Mrs. Evans started at WCA in 1998 teaching K-4. She is now the Middle Learning Center Supervisor. She and her husband, Ed, are the parents of 4 grown sons and are blessed to be grandparents to many! Mrs. Evans is on the leadership team for Women's Ministry at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church and she and Ed direct the church's "Team Kid" program. She is a wonderful asset to our school and has helped shape the lives of many children in our area.
Justin Coffin - Upper Learning Center Supervisor Mr. Coffin is returning for his second year as our Upper Learning Center supervisor after having served on our board of trustees for several years. We feel so blessed to have this godly man on our staff. Justin is the pastor of Christ Church of Woodward and is married to Sheena. Two of his three children, Jacoby and Kamden, attend WCA, and the third, Brylee, can often be seen cruising the halls from her stroller.
Andrew Dostal - P.E. Teacher Mr. Dostal has been our volunteer P.E. teacher for several years, now. He is the youth pastor at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church where his wife, Michelle, also acts as worship leader for the church's early service. Mr. Dostal is always willing to fill in wherever the school needs him and has done everything from acting as a technical advisor to speaking at chapel. WCA so much appreciates the time, talent, and effort that he devotes to our students.
Melinda Hosier - Secretary Mrs. Hosier has been volunteering as WCA's librarian for several years. She works tirelessly to organize and improve our existing library and has catalogued over one thousand books to add to it. Last year she joined our staff as secretary, putting her organizational skills to the test! She is married to Norman and her daughter, Natalie, attends WCA.
Sheena Coffin - Secretary Sheena Coffin joins WCA this year as the afternoon secretary. Mrs. Coffin is a godly woman and mother of three beautiful children who also happens to be highly gifted in the areas of organization and planning. With more students than ever, WCA is sorely in need of her skills! We praise God for bringing Mrs. Coffin to help in the office.
